SEAN-CSO: Equipping CSOs with AI Innovations for P/CVE in Southeast Asia

For 10 years, SEAN-CSO has empowered civil society organisations (CSOs) to prevent and counter violent extremism (P/CVE),and also hate, and disinformation, through sharing knowledge, and promoting regional collaboration.

SEAN-CSO is supported by the Australian Department of Home Affairs, working with Deakin University, and now Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) based in Bandung, Indonesia.

In 2026, we are engaging with the ethical use of AI tools to tackle online hate, to counter violent extremism, and to respond to disinformation, in order to strengthen local peacemakers.
The program includes 5 webinars starting 8th September until 26th October 2026, and continued with the hybrid workshop in Bandung from 3rd - 6th November 2026.

What is P/CVE and How Does It Work?

P/CVE aims to prevent and counter violent extremism. By understanding the root causes and implementing effective strategies, we can stop people from joining extremist groups. Additionally, we can build resilient communities to support the reintegration and rehabilitation of those involved in extremism, helping them return to society as productive members.
